Pineta: loved, lived... painted

1. The company Lignano Pineta in collaboration with the cultural association Arte Pagnacco organises the fourth edition of the Renzo Ardito painting contest.

2. The goal of this initiative is to celebrate Renzo Ardito, one of the founders of the modern Lignano style, and to highlight parts of the territory.

3. The competition will open on Saturday, 8th September and will end on Sunday, 9th September.

4. The event includes a competition of freestyle painting, with the theme: “Pineta: loved, lived… painted”.

5. The contest is open to artists of all ages and backgrounds, with separate section for children and/or teenagers up to 14 years.

6. To participate, each artist will be provided with a canvas or a board. The confirmation of the canvas or the white board will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, 2nd September and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, 3rd September, at the PalaPineta, a meeting place for artists in the Parco del Mare di Lignano Pineta (Lignano Pineta Seaside Park) between Viale a Mare and Raggio dei Canestrei.
The canvases or tables can be authenticated at the headquarters of the Associazione Arte Pagnacco in Via Fruch n. 5 in Pagnacco on Saturday September 8 from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.

7. Each artist may compete with one work only, with suspension hook with or without frame, measuring a maximum of 100 cm x 100 cm.

8. The organisation will indicate the workspaces to be used for the extempore participants, which must be kept tidy by the artists themselves. Participants must bring their own equipment and work materials (easel, chairs and anything else required).

9. The completed artwork will be delivered to the organisation at the PalaPineta, on Saturday, 2nd September at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, 3rd September until 2:30 p.m., which is the deadline for delivery.

10. By regulation, all artwork must display in a clearly legible manner, on the reverse side, the following information: author (full name), title, sizes and technique.

11. After the last delivery, all the artwork will be exhibited at the PalaPineta in Lignano Pineta in the Parco del Mare (Seaside Park) of Lignano Pineta and will be viewed from the moment when the panel will complete its work, until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday 3rd September. Artists are encouraged to leave their artwork on display until said time and to collect them no later than 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, 3rd September. The winning artwork will remain as the assets of the Lignano Pineta Company and will be exhibited in areas open to the public. The Lignano Pineta Company declines any liability for theft, damage or anything else during the period of the event.

12. The members of the jury, consisting of historians and critics of expert artwork, will be announced during the awards ceremony. The jury will examine the submitted works and will award the prizes with final and irrevocable judgment.

13. The authors of the three pieces of artwork, who achieve the highest scores from the jury, with regard to technical skills and originality, will be awarded a prize respectively:

1st place: purchase prize of 1,000 Euros

2nd place: purchase prize of 600 Euros

3rd place: purchase prize of 300 Euros

The amounts quoted are expressed in gross payments, prior to the deduction of the 25% withholding tax. In addition, the jury will issue two reports. A further report will be provided through popular vote; the public has the right to indicate their preference by voting between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 9th September.
The awards ceremony will be held at the PalaPineta at 7 p.m. on Sunday September 9. The selected works will be presented and rewarded. For the “children/teenagers” section the work chosen will be awarded a non-cash prize.

14. The membership fee for the 2018 edition is 15.00 Euros and 5.00 Euros for the “children/teenagers section”; it must be paid within Sunday September 2, 2018, by bank transfer to Art Pagnacco:

15. The application form, duly completed and accompanied by a copy of the payment should be anticipated within the deadline mentioned above to the company Lignano Pineta by fax +39 0431 428677 or email to The original must be given at the time of authentication of the canvas and/or table.

16. Should the artist decide not to participate in the event or the event is postponed, the registration fee will not be refunded.

17. If the winner is not present at the award ceremony, the award will remain unassigned.

18. The membership fee covers only the participation in the contest. At the time of authentication coupons for discounted menus will be delivered to the participant, enjoyable exclusively at the exhibition. At the time of registration you will also be able to book overnight stays for the participant at discounted prices at the President Hotel Lignano or other participating hotels, for the period of the event.

19. The artist authorises the event organisers to take photographs or film them, as needed, for the purposes of advertising, journalistic and photographic services concerning the event.
The artist relinquishes all claims to any form of compensation or proceedings against the Lignano Pineta Company.

20. Participation in this competition implies complete acceptance of these rules.

21. The Lignano Pineta Company and the Associazione Arte Pagnacco (Pagnacco Art Association), organisers of this event, reserve the unquestionable right of whether or not to postpone or cancel the event for serious and valid reasons, providing all artists, who have supplied their email addresses, with timely notification, by the day preceding the actual date of the event.

Pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, the company Lignano Pineta, with the support of Arte Pagnacco of the Ex-tempore painting exhibition dedicated to Renzo Ardito, provides you with the following information.
Video films will be shot and photo images will be taken during the event, so we kindly invite you to fill out and sign the release form that will be available at the reception.

The members of the Ex-tempore painting exhibition dedicated to Renzo Ardito also authorize the company Lignano Pineta to use their works free of charge for publication purposes and declare to waive the rights of economic use and any form of compensation for the publication of such works without the assignment of copyright, but allowing only the use of works for publications. Those registered in the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting exhibition exonerate the company Lignano Pineta from any liability concerning any restrictions regarding the copyright, declare to be responsible for the aforesaid works; ensure that the works are lawfully available and do not violate any provisions of law or regulation, self-disciplinary systems or any third-party rights, taking the broadest responsibility in relation to the works themselves and expressly exempt the company Lignano Pineta from any liability and burden of ascertainment and/or control in this regard.

The members of the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting exhibition shall also hold the company Lignano Pineta harmless from any objection or claim for damages, which should be brought against it as a result of the publication of the aforementioned works.
