Pineta, with the sea in the eyes

1. The Lignano Pineta Company, in collaboration with the Pagnacco Cultural Art Association (l’Associazione Culturale Arte Pagnacco) is organising the third edition of the Renzo Ardito painting competition.

2. The goal of this initiative is to celebrate Renzo Ardito, one of the founders of the modern Lignano style, and to highlight parts of the territory.

3. The competition will open on Saturday, 2nd September and will end on Sunday, 3rd September.

4. The event includes a competition of freestyle painting, with the theme: “Pineta, with the sea in your eyes.”

5. The competition is open to artists of all ages and backgrounds; you can also participate in a group artwork project, in which case it will only show the name of the contact person.

6. To participate, each artist will be provided with a canvas or a board. The confirmation of the canvas or the white board will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, 2nd September and from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, 3rd September, at the PalaPineta, a meeting place for artists in the Parco del Mare di Lignano Pineta (Lignano Pineta Seaside Park) between Viale a Mare and Raggio dei Canestrei.

7. Each artist may compete with one piece of artwork, equipped with a suspension hook (with or without frame), of a maximum size of 100 x 100.8 cm.

8. The organisation will indicate the workspaces to be used for the extempore participants, which must be kept tidy by the artists themselves. Participants must bring their own equipment and work materials (easel, chairs and anything else required).

9. The completed artwork will be delivered to the organisation at the PalaPineta, on Saturday, 2nd September at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, 3rd September until 2:30 p.m., which is the deadline for delivery.

10. By regulation, all artwork must display in a clearly legible manner, on the reverse side, the following information: author (name and surname or contact group), title, measurements and technique.

11. After the last delivery, all the artwork will be exhibited at the PalaPineta in Lignano Pineta in the Parco del Mare (Seaside Park) of Lignano Pineta and will be viewed from the moment when the panel will complete its work, until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday 3rd September. Artists are encouraged to leave their artwork on display until said time and to collect them no later than 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, 3rd September. The winning artwork will remain as the assets of the Lignano Pineta Company and will be exhibited in areas open to the public. The Lignano Pineta Company declines any liability for theft, damage or anything else during the period of the event.

12. The members of the jury, consisting of historians and critics of expert artwork, will be announced during the awards ceremony. The jury will assess the projects submitted and will award the prizes. Their decisions will be final and not subject to any appellate procedures.

13. The authors of the three pieces of artwork, who achieve the highest scores from the jury, with regard to technical skills and originality, will be awarded a prize respectively:

First prize: € 1,000

Second prize: € 600

Third prize: € 300

The amounts quoted are expressed in gross payments, prior to the deduction of the 25% withholding tax. In addition, the jury will issue two reports. A further report will be provided through popular vote; the public has the right to indicate their preference by voting between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 3rd September.
The awards ceremony will be held at the PalaPineta at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, 3rd September. The selected pieces of artwork will be presented at that time.

14. If the winner is not in attendance during the awards ceremony, the prize will remain unassigned.

15. The registration fee for Edition 2017 is €15.00 and must be paid no later than Sunday, 27th August 2017, by bank transfer to Arte Pagnacco.

16. Should the artist decide not to participate in the event or the event is postponed, the registration fee will not be refunded.

17. The registration fee only includes participation in the competition. Upon registration you may book affiliated menus reserved for participants, only on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday, 3rd September, in the following locales: “La Granseola” and “BBQ”. Upon enrolment, you may also make a reservation for participant overnight stays at discounted prices at the Hotel President Lignano or other participating hotels, for Friday the 1st, Saturday the 2nd and Sunday 3rd September.

18. The artist authorises the event organisers to take photographs or film them, as needed, for the purposes of advertising, journalistic and photographic services concerning the event.
The artist relinquishes all claims to any form of compensation or proceedings against the Lignano Pineta Company.

19. Participation in this competition implies complete acceptance of these rules.

20. The Lignano Pineta Company and the Associazione Arte Pagnacco (Pagnacco Art Association), organisers of this event, reserve the unquestionable right of whether or not to postpone or cancel the event for serious and valid reasons, providing all artists, who have supplied their email addresses, with timely notification, by the day preceding the actual date of the event.

Under Article 13 of Legislative Decree n. 196/2003, the Lignano Pineta organizer with the support of the Arte Pagnacco of the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting competition is authorized to process personal data of natural and legal persons, subject to prior notice to the parties concerned. They will therefore provide the following information. The processing we intend to carry out also relates to personal information and its purposes concerning the organisation of the extempore painting competition; the data processing will be carried out by means of paper-based collection and/or computerized medium with subsequent computer processing and archiving. Data submission is necessary for the purposes of said organisation. Giorgio Ardito, president of the Lignano Pineta Company, is the owner of the processed data

According to the Royal Decree No. 633 of 1941 regarding the right of personal portrayal, those enrolled in the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting competition authorise the Lignano Pineta Company to publish images/photographs of their paintings for possible distribution on the Internet (websites, Facebook, blogs, etc.) or in printed form, displayed in exhibitions, without jeopardizing personal dignity and decorum. Those enrolled in the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting competition also authorise the Lignano Pineta Company the use, free of charge, of their artwork for publication requirements and hereby relinquish property rights and all forms of compensation for the publication of said works without the transfer of copyright, however, allowing only the use of artwork for publication. Participants in the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting competition exempt the Lignano Pineta Company from any liability of any constraints inherent within the copyright, claiming to be responsible for said artwork. They guarantee that the artwork is in their legitimate availability and do not violate Italian laws or regulations, self-disciplinary regulations or any rights or contravening third parties, each assuming broader responsibility for the pieces of artwork themselves and exempting the Lignano Pineta Company from any liability and burden of verification and/or control regarding thereof.
Participants in the Renzo Ardito Ex-tempore painting competition also undertake to reimburse the Lignano Pineta Company regarding any dispute or any claim of damage, which might be made against him/her following the publication of these pieces of artwork.
